MABAGSIK
BURNING STICK WITH THE BURNING FLAMING BLADE
by GT Gaje
The Mabagsik Fighting Kayumanggis are God's forgotten new generation of fighters whose deepest desire is to hold the
burning stick with the burning flame of madness to fight without a single thought of defeat but to win at all cost.
In their blood found the crimson redness of Datu Lapu Lapu blood when he killed Ferdinand Magellan with his burning Kampilan,
a symbol of the burning flame.
The Mabagsik are the selected Few whose mentality is to train 24 hours a day with a goal of hitting the dummy enemy from
1,000 to 6,000 hits without mercy and more to go for 20,000 hits on no less than 20 days challenge.
These breed of warriors are the re-incarnation of the men of valor who fought in the early days of the 103 years war
in Europe (Holy War), the years of Slavery where blackmen were thrown into the sea for them to look for an Island for them
to survive and to the ancient wars of the famous Genghis Khan who conquered mostly of the Asia and European continents, to
the revolution of the Spanish -Filipino, Filipino American revolt and to the Japanese invasion of the Philippines in 1942.
These men of the present decent are chosen by nature to live the life of the modern times but to bring the back the spirit
of warriorship of the same men of yesterday, now the men of today under the crowning glory of the Mabagsik Clan.
These men of war had made their first voyage to end with victory. The victory was not for winning but since they were
warriors of the past, they were bound to win and when the future demands for them to fight, that is the highest calling of
their destiny.
Mabagsik is a name of all qualities found in a victorious warrior. Their four months of training should no mercy against
5 years of arnis, escrima training. What has been witnessed during the tournament was a victory not a defeat, courage not
fear, will to win at all cost with the pain of excitable joy.
It is in the burning sticks that burn the hands of the Mabagsik leaving no scars, only to hold the burning flame of the
burning blade.
